Sweating And Body Odour how it relates:

Sweating is an essential physical process by which the body releases excessive body heat and regulates our body temperature. It also maintains fluid and electrolyte balance in our body.
Sweat, by itself is odourless, that is it doesn’t produce any smell, since it is sterile in formation.

Smell or odour will only exist when where is difficulty in evaporation thereby creating a breeding ground for bacterial action. The intensity of sweat and it’s smell varies from person to person and also from place to place.

Causes of body odour

Body odour is anti-social and for the benefit of us and those we relate with we need to get rid of it.
The smelly breakdown of sweat tends to be more active around the armpits, feet and genital area for a number of reasons:

  • The sweat in these areas do not evaporates fast as exposed surfaces, such as arms.
  • Glands in these areas produce proteins and fats that encourage the growth of bacteria
  • These areas are usually warmer;a perfect breeding ground for bacterial growth.

The following are common causes of body odour:

  • Diet: certain foods contain smelly chemicals which can be excreted by the skin, such as curry, garlic, ginger and other strong spices.
  • Habits of smoking and drinking.
  • Nervous disorder such as Parkinson’s disease.
  • Poorly washed clothes and clothes that have not dried properly.
  • Hereditary cause: It could be From a Genetic Condition, If you’re a super stinky person, perhaps you can blame it on your genes.

DO’S:

  • Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness.
